In 1977, the Professional Development and Training Center, Inc. was created as the fee-for-service fiscal agent under which CLREP operates. Through the years, PDT has developed an array of consulting services for the education, small business, and corporate sectors including: TEAM SPIRIT DEVELOPMENTTM INITIATIVES Team SpiritTM is a comprehensive, dynamic, experiential approach to enhancing service and performance within organizations. Team SpiritTM combines action learning with business modeling to translate team-based concepts into your organization's language, environment and work. Team SpiritTM grows out of skills in the five phases of the Team Spirit Spiral: Initiating, Visioning, Claiming, Celebrating and Letting Go to deliver extraordinary service. Team SpiritTM can be the link between the energy of individuals and the fulfillment of organizational goals. During the summer of 2001, Rick Miller completed the Team Spirit DevelopmentTM Certification Program and is now licensed and certified to conduct Team Spirit DevelopmentTM Initiatives. SEXUAL HARASSMENT PREVENTION Our Sexual Harassment Prevention consultations are designed to assist organizations in reducing sexual harassment and sexual assault. Over 26,000 participants have gained increased knowledge, skills and understanding of what constitutes sexual harassment, and how to enforce and comply with sexual harassment polices and procedures. We have provided the following types of assistance for clients:
When conflict erupts, the usual responses are to avoid, deny and sometimes to resolve. Seldom is conflict used as a springboard to better communication, improved relationships or enhanced performance. Our Conflict Transformation and Mediation consultations are designed to give participants the skills, attitudes and knowledge to use conflict proactively and productively. We have assisted clients with training in advanced conflict resolution skills, developed and implemented training of trainer models, and designed and integrated mediation programs into their ongoing operations. VIOLENCE PREVENTION INTERVENTIONS Sadly, violence in schools and workplaces continues to occur at alarming rates. Violence Prevention Initiatives are designed to assist organizations in developing policies, procedures and protocols to reduce the risk to employees and/or students. Consultations have included risk assessment, policy development, and training. STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT Peter Vaill coined the term continuos whitewater as a descriptor for the turbulence and rapidity of change that organizations confront both internally and externally today. Strategic Management consultations are designed to aid organizations, whether they are for profit, not-for-profit or part of a larger system. Consultations have focused on systemic issues such as reorganization or creating alignment of vision, mission, goals, and procedures. Additionally, we have consulted with organizations on specific strategic decisions or projects. THE VALUE OF DIVERSITY WORKSHOP Often diversity is approached as a problem, concern or even as an afterthought. This workshop is designed to explore diversity and how it can strengthen performance and productivity. Through action learning, simulations, experiential activities, and case studies, participants gain insight on diversity and their perspectives toward inclusion. PDT is available to work with your business or school to custom design staff or student training.
